When you have a very healthy and dynamic 15 yr. old playing videogames in a very bad mood all day you are truly desperate to find him something better to do than just hanging out with friends.
He’s tried soccer, tennis and joined the school swimming team for a season, but found it boring after a while.
Suggesting any sport possible I mentioned boxing not imagining he would be willing to try.
After speaking to coach Dan, he committed to try his best or he would be out. He has no time to waste on lazy boys- He said.
I saw a big change in his attitude right away. He was running 2 miles every morning before school. He was ready for his training on his own. He asked me to buy his protein shake so he would have more energy. I did not have to push as I had before with every other activity he tried.
He had role models, boys same age, younger and older that had being training for a longer period of time and were already competing. They are so strong! - He would tell me. You also have to be smart to box- He said.
Sadly we had to move from Orlando to Mexico and I thought he wasn’t going to continue training, since I truly believe there’s no other coach like Dan. He pushes and motivates his students to bring out their best.
I was so wrong. He’s training 2 hours daily in a facility not as equipped or full of energy as Dan’s boxing gym, but he’s found a sport that challenges him to become his best possible.
I would recommend Dan’s Gym to any boy or girl that has a lot of energy and needs to find a way to channel it in a positive way.
